A man stares up to the sky and beholds a brilliant past Skyward towards the height’s eternal reach; a clarity at long last understood He sees all who came and all who have foregone all whom have full-stood and all whom have withdrawn A thousand stars paint an eternity, a forbearing of the full scope of the mind’s reach He travels on with his further reach equipped with the tools to go forward Nothing obscured and with his new competence he overcomes all the unforeseen With a strength of two thousand he hurdles forth and forth; all with no fear of disaster A focused mind, the height at his side; he bursts his own world asunder From his new height he spirals from the sky - beyond ground-ward faster he goes Like a ship long now sunk, with a compass long fucked; still convinced it knows its true path Any attempt to stop his spiraling hastens his deeper descent Surrounded by those who would raise him way beyond the ground - any attempt is faced and met with his own arrogance A man stares up to the sky and he beholds a brilliant past A man stares up to the sky but he sees truly nothing at all A man stares up to the sky But he sees truly nothing at all (2x)

When was I was a child I dreamed of the things I’d do The things I’d see and goals I’d achieve I walked the paths of my ancestors, they walked beside A thousand choices before me, no endings in sight I heard the voices on the wind, they pointed the way But life can be hard when you are young, when you are young So many different paths to choose from, to choose from I lost my way when I was young, when I was young Forgotten and afraid all I could do was carry on Looking back that child is dead, buried and gone Looking back since then what have I done, what have I done? Looking back no battles have I fought, no honor won Looking back what great deeds have I done? What songs shall be sung? Growing up in the forests of iron, no more did I dream but the voices still spoke No longer did I listen, no longer did I hear Through mountains of glass across the streams of cement The path lay ahead yet I wandered away To gold and to silver, drawn to obey To greed and desire I lost my way Strayed so far, so far away The path that I walk, I walk it alone I take what you have, I reap what you’ve sown Lost in this life, every bad choice I choose Nothing matters now I have nothing to lose (2x) But life can be hard when you are young, when you are young So many wrong paths to choose from, to choose from I lost my way when I was young, when I was young Forgotten and afraid, now all I can do is carry on And then I grew old and realized I’d lived my life in fear Ridden the storms of chaos thinking I could steer And then I grew old and realized I’d lived my life in fear Giving in to despair was easier than fighting to get clear Racing to the end I trample those in my way I still hear the voices yet I can't tell what they say Eyes closed, every wrong choice I choose Nothing matters now I have nothing to lose (2x) Staring back I recoil in horror, the path that I’ve walked on covered in bones Looking down I realize I know them, they were my ancestors who pointed the way Gone are their voices, their faces fade away, cold becomes the air, dark becomes the day Looking up I suddenly see a woman half flesh, half bone staring down at me Standing before the throne of beauty and of bone I gaze in despair as the truth is laid bare Two halves upon a throne her face of beauty and of bone A mirror for her eyes in reflection my disguise (2x)

Deserted cities, abandoned towns Desolate settlements draped in moldering gowns Decaying vistas for days on end Descrying tomorrow, mankind's descent Deleterious march, to change, not to hold Degeneracy rampant, from coast to addled coast We sit on the edge of the line Will we lose control See their fingers scraping at the skies While the rest drown below Drowning below Signs of ailing, signs of weakening Gaïa screams but the Earth is deaf to her cries Surface failing, cancer, weaklings Bite hand that feeds in ignorance Ignorants Sheep in herds Yet their shepherds are the ones who stray Deserted cities, dilapidated towns Desolate settlements, where rot abounds Rot Mutilation, molestation Gaia wails as her lifeblood slowly depletes Revelation, revolution Raise a clenching fist in defiance Defiant Never bent  The sacrifices will be well worth the rewards Rewarded Sheep in herds Still their shepherds carry on and stray Decaying vistas, weeks into months Descrying tomorrow, of man, devoid Deleterious march, thrown all away Decivilization imminent, cannot be kept at bay The putrid fumes will overtake  (The night sky rid of stars) Leave desolation in their wake (All life burned to the ground) When all the wells have been bled dry (No more crops to reap) Cancerous leech, at last, will die (The fated prophecy) In hibernation Gaia lies (Under thick sheets of ice) From her ashes, she will rise (Soil, keeper of the roots) Forests now grown through the debris (Asunder, stone and steel) Their boughs and bark, the Sun will see (The fated prophecy)

And in snow upon the stone A pyre to bring the sky the dead And in ash upon the stone Memories of Decembers past You and I all. You, I, we all Dream of hymns in winter warm You and I all. You, I, we all Dream of hymns in warm winter I in her empire; you, I, we all Ever unturned here Wilderness king, wilderness queen The call of bones, the rain of seasons The song of stone and gathering, here Every old forest that has writing in its past inherits our dreams; arrows made from its fallen fly truer than any history we could write. It’s an enchantment born not of fighting but of long years in wait and of the sanctity of vows to the land. A hymn of every language sounds across her empire; fragments of old civilizations shine as one mosaic as we gather and sing in the harvest. For that which we once gained and have now lost is never lost, for it can be found again in silence, in solace, in the void, among the trees. Ruins lay on one side; glorious, they feed the spirit, the spirit (2x) The fruits of a people whose heavens bore summers Whose season calls, whose seasons calls The fruits of a people whose heavens bore summers Whose season calls through autumn’s lowing Whose victories lay before you Victories that stand as ours An offering in shining knotwork And stand as ours if them we wish to reap Join what heralds vernal thunder Reap the sun at summer’s height Sing the burning autumn’s harvest Breathe the air at winter’s heart Of stone and gathering (4x)

One day I will find the ashes of my past. Seeking all that binds my loss and memory. A feral presence loomed in the edges of time. Seeking, waiting, wandering under a boreal light. Fires cascade in ebon hues, beckoning the dawn. Robed in twilight I issued forth, bearing myself undone. Fear, I knew it's face in twilights fading rays I cast away my pain and gave into my fate. I cast forth the the raiment and I sought a deeper knowledge Pathways hewn amongst the stars, their diadems agleam. Mayhap in the twilight folds, I may find my calling. I issue forth my hail, my scarlet blood and blessing. One day I will find the ashes of my past Seeking all the binds my loss and memory.

The Circle 07:36
Four fetid skulls arranged within a circle Yellowed bone adorned with charred ashes Marking each with a symbol which denotes a life well lived or hollowly done It is not for me to say it's why I bring them here That the mistress might appear and assign them value A fifth skull is required to complete the circle Should the mistress approve and see the ritual renewed The air grows cold the sign of her approach she comes eager this night Floating just above the ground she glides towards me Nothing more than a mask and a crimson cloak She comes to view my baleful gift She looks to me with expectation I present two open palms There is nothing in the satchel her visage changes to perplexion I unclasp my cape, I present my throat I have found and give to her the fifth skull Sorcery is in my blood I cling to the laws of chaos Blind we become if so fortunate are we Shielded from the origins of the chaos we crave Peering into the chasm which splits the heavens in twain Discipline creates everything, unimpeded lawlessness Pouring from the chasm, careening to earth Temet Nosce 4x You are a follower yearning to be a creator What are you going to do? I am a crimson cloak enveloping dark nothing I know you see it too Temet Nosce 2x
